Grundowinch - KW3000, 4000, 5000 and 10,000

Grundowinch Twin Capstan Winches offer unbeatable performance. Whatever capacity is required or task performed.

Grundowinch has re-written the specification rulebook. It is designed and built with the user and plant manager in mind.

The KW4000 is fully automatic, easy to use, reliable and simple to maintain. Any cable slack is immediately sensed and quickly taken up – AUTOMATICALLY.

“Hands Free” operation is a hallmark of the Grundowinch. You just set the required tonnage and line speed and let the Grundowinch take the strain.

Never before has such a comprehensive winch been available for today’s active trenchless technology industry.

Faced with swage lining to slip lining, roll down to sewer renovation, pipe cracking to pipe and cable pulling – grundowinch pulls them all.

For Swage lining and “sensitive” cable winching operations, an optional datalogger can be fitted to the Grundowinch which constantly monitors the line speed and winching force used, then stores and prints a hard copy of the statistics for reference purposes.

We have available a full range of winches, from 3ton to 10 ton, in both KW and RW models.

General advice on setting up and using the Grundowinch

It is absolutely imperative that the Grundowinch is set up correctly.

(1) The EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON will stop the winch from pulling immediately. The EMERGENCY STOP button needs to be checked regularly, to ensure it is working correctly.

(2) Make sure the Grundowinch is attached to the towing vehicle, and the handbrake applied as usual.

(3) Place the Grundowinch on ground that can support its weight, and the load it is pulling. Align with the pull as straight as possible.

(4) When setting up the winch, it must be set up as a level platform, with the use of the rear prop legs, and the front leg. No pulling force must be transferred through the tow bar. In the event the rear prop legs cannot be used – you must use the front restraining eyes to anchor the winch, by means of a chain, 10t ratchet strap, or chain and pulley.

(5) Never set the winch to a load that is not necessary, always start with the minimum and increase slowly.

(6) Make yourself aware of any dangers that could arise, for example – the workforce at the other end of the pull who could be injured by your actions.

(7) NEVER leave the engine running and the Grundowinch unattended.

(8) The Grundowinch has its own independent diesel tank, built in to the body of the winch, when full will run for 8 hours – 1 full working day. The winch is fitted with a low fuel warning light.

(9) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANY PERSON USE THE GRUNDOWINCH WHO IS NOT COMPETENT WITH ITS USE.
