Size of Pit for 400G Bursting Rigs
We recommend the pit for the rig is a minimum 3.0mtrs Long and at least 1.0mtr wide. The bottom of the pit must be kept as dry as possible.
The Bursting rig must be fixed to the base of the pit - any movement will affect the bursting operation.
WARNING
NEVER STAND BEHIND THE RIG
IN THE PIT
When Bursting Pipes, you must always burst the back of the collar first.
When you are feeding the Pilot Rod through the existing pipe, and when you are bursting, we always recommend the use of an operative, monitoring the operations (walking) along the line of the pipe, that is being burst.
We also recommend all parties on site have use of 2 way radios.
It is absolutely imperative a complete detailed planning survey is carried out along the bursting line, checking for all existing services, and hidden objects that may be present.
NO PIPEBURSTING IS TO BE STARTED WITHOUT ALL PLANNING AND SERVICE CHECKS CARRIED OUT THOROUGHLY
