Vibrating Hammers

Vibrating Hammers

All of the above vibrating hammers are used to drive sheet piles into the ground from small air driven units, to medium size excavator mounted units that use the pipe circuits of a pecking hammer, to large crane mounted vibrating hammers to drive anything up to larssen piles or equivalent.

Overview

  • All units operate at high frequency, the frequency decreasing with vibrator size.
  • High centrifugal forces, up to 40 tonnes, with high amplitudes up to 14.4 mm.
  • High power to weight ratio, much higher than vibratory compactors.
  • Ideal for loose granular soils, although less effective in dense cohesive soils.
  • Same unit can drive and extract.
  • Can be mounted onto excavators as small as 5 tonnes.

Advantages of Machine Mounted Vibrating Hammers

  • Much quieter than air hammers.
  • No compressor required.
  • Same unit can drive and extract sheets – no modifications required.
  • Slender design can drive between sheets.
  • Fits common excavator sizes – we will need to know make and model of Excavator.
  • Extremely fast at installing sheet piles in most soil types.
  • Low weight, productivity increased through excavator down crowd.
  • Can drive sheet piles up to 7.0 meters long with most excavators.

Please ensure that all plant is returned in a reasonably clean and tidy condition or a cleaning/ repair charge will apply
